The educational VOC School programme
Your school group will be invited, after the regular 80 minutes Dungeon tour, by an actor in the role of sailor from the VOC period. In about 20 minutes, you will learn everything about the wretched circumstances of the life aboard a VOC ship…

Please note: one teacher is required to supervise every 10 students visiting the Amsterdam Dungeon.

At entry you feel like you've gone back in time. You will be welcomed by a number of actors who look like they were born 500 years ago. They tell scary stories about the plague and the dark history of Amsterdam. The actors are good in their roles and take the audience into the grind. You get the crazy house where Rembrandt's mistress locked, a VOC ship where disease and mutiny there, step inside the home of the convicted witch Meynes Cornelis and feel her dark presence .. and make a roller coaster ride to the underworld of the Grim Reaper!
